I am someone who believes that women can have it all. I believe you can have the husband, the kids, the great career, great friends and wrap them all with a pretty pink bow. Yes, I do believe the above indeed. Now, I also believe that to achieve all these great things, you must plan and you must be ready to lose sleep. Having it all involves making lots of sacrifices and keeping your eyes on the prize even when your body is telling you that’s it’s too tired. I believe with tons of hard work and dedication, you can make it to the top-regardless of what that means to you. Your idea of ‘the top’ might be different from another person’s idea of ‘the top’ and that is okay.
I have learned to develop tunnel vision and a filter for ears. I know exactly what I want and where it is I want to go in life and regardless of what people around me say, I will push until I get there. When people try to discourage me, I simply filter out the negativity and focus on things that can build me up. I believe that everyone is born with a huge capacity to do a lot. Sometimes we do not tap into our innate resources. Dare to dream. Dare to see the world as bigger than your surroundings. Dare to jump out there and take the world by storm.
I am a firm believer in planning. It all starts with charting out your dreams. Sit for a second, or for an entire weekend, and let your mind wander. What goals do you want to accomplish? If you have stopped dreaming, just indulge for a second. Then write them down. After writing the dreams down, try to figure out- step by step- how to reach your goal. Pick one goal at a time so you do not get overwhelmed. Start with the smallest goal, then work your way up. People accomplish goals all the time. People rise up from adversity all the time. Why can’t you be one of those people? No one is saying it will be easy, but that is what separates the mediocre from the exceptional.
Dare to dream. The world is at your feet waiting to be tapped. Do not waste a single day wishing you could accomplish something big. Do it now.
